One of my Facebook Friends has christened today “Cancel Monday”, the day everything got cancelled. Even though today was my day off, there has been so much going on that I have had to keep monitoring the situation and responding to queries and cancellations.
My diary has hemorrhaged appointments this week, there are only 2 things that are still on (well at the moment they are!). Christ Church is still running lunch club on Tuesday and Ledbury are running Quiet Space. Meetings, assemblies, synods, youth drop in all cancelled.
Bromyard Methodists conscious of their age and vulnerability have taken the difficult decision of closing for worship for the time being. Christ Church have cancelled all fellowship meetings. Please keep them all in your prayers.
We are going to try and run our Circuit Meeting later this week by Zoom Conferencing, if you want to see more take a look at https://zoom.us/ People will be able to connect using their computers, tablets, smart phone or plain old telephones and interact in the meeting. We are also going to try and run some worship and fellowship meetings as well.
Angie and I will concentrate our time in the next few days in trying to work out strategies for connecting people and worship and fellowship. So keep an eye on this blog, and hopefully also on a new page on our website which we hope will go live tomorrow CONNECT
Following the press conference from our prime minister Boris Johnson today, we are expecting another announcement from the Connexional Team tomorrow, and I will update folk as soon as I can.
In the meantime we will keep praying:-
God of all hope we call on you today.
We pray for those who are living in fear:
Fear of illness, fear for loved ones,
fear of other’s reactions to them.
May your Spirit give us a sense of calmness and peace.
We pray for your church in this time of uncertainty.
For those people who are worried about attending worship.
For those needing to make decisions in order to care for other
For those who will feel more isolated by not being able to attend. Grant us your wisdom.
Holy God, we remember that you have promised that
Nothing will separate us from your love
– demonstrated to us in Jesus Christ.
Help us turn our eyes, hearts and minds to you.
